Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. (D)
Tour begins: At the airport in Ulaanbaatar you will be met by our vehicle and transferred to your hotel. City orientation tour, visit the Choijin LamaMuseum- there are about five temples within the complex and, amongst other artifacts, it houses the best tsam masks in the country. And visit Bogd Khaan Palace, which is a series of beautiful traditional buildings in which the last religious King of Mongolia resided. Dinner at the Modern Nomads restaurant /Mongolian national food, modern and comfortable/. Overnight in 3 star hotel.
Day 2: Fly to Khubsgul(B/L/D)
You /group/ will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Murun /670 km, 1.50 hours/. In Murun you will be met by your jeep, and transferred to Hatgal village. Hatgal is located in south cost of KuvsgulLake . We will overnight in a very basic guest house, which is heated.
Day 3: Lake Khubsgul Ice (B/L/D)
You will drive by jeep on the ice of the lake for 2 hours and meet with our local guide with their horses and sleigh. They are the Numerous Darkhad Mongol nomads who live on the western shore their animals during the winter. Overnight in a ger where the felts are spread on the floor and equipped with the stove. It’s on the shore of the lake
Day 4-5: Lake Khubsgul Ice – horse sledges journey(B/L/D)
You will travel by horse sledges and visit the local nomadic family. You may also do trekking or skiing on the foot of the mount KhordolSardag. Ice-skating is possible too. We will also load all provisions to the sleigh and two or three people will carry them. The ice of the lake is around 1.20 meters thick and clear like glass that you can see the swimming fishes.
Mongolian one of ethnic group, Darkhad Mongol Nomad people live along the western cost of the lake which is called Renchinlkhumb village. Their winter pasture located in here. They use yak and horse to move to this place. And it takes several days. In the summer non-of the people live along the shore. So we will have an opportunity to become a friend and know the way of life of this hardy people. Overnight in the winter Ger.
Day 6-7: Visit Ice Festival (B/L/D)
Every year local people who live around the lake, celebrate a small Ice Festival. And also a few Tuva people / known as rain deer people/ came to this festival too. This small festival takes part on the ice of the lake after Mongolian New Year TsagaanSar /white moon/ before the spring migration. All people, who participate in ice festival, organize the computations such as ice-skating, horse sleigh racing, and tug-of-war. a Japanese wresting Sumo is being organized too. And also arms wrestling on the ice are the favorite competition for women.
It’s a wonderful sight that the reflection of the mountain KhoridolSaridag in the shiny ice of the lake Khuvsgul .Overnight in the winter Ger.
Day 8: Drive back to Khatgal(B/L/D)
Transfer back to Hatgal by jeep or a horse sleds. In Hatgal we will visit to the visitor centre of The Khuvsgul Lake National Park. In wintertime this place has very few visitors. Overnight in Hatgal.
Day 9: Ulaanbaatar (B/L/D)
The people /group/ will be transferred to back to Moron for the flight to Ulaanbaatar (the domestic flight usually departs early). Moron is the main town in Khuvsgul area. After depart the domestic flight to Ulaanbaatar, transferred to the hotel.Overnight in 3 star hotel.
Day 10: City tour (B/L/D)
After lunch, visit to cashmere factory ‘ Gobi ‘ for shopping. You can buy a original and pure wool and cashmere clothes and gifts. In the evening interesting Mongolian traditional cultural performance.Dinner in the restaurant Modern Nomads and night in 3 star hotel.
Day 11: Journey home (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time. Transfer to the airport or train station.
